Dark Matter, Dark Energy, Dark Skies – CELT’s Annual Meeting Nov. 18

November 18 @ 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Free
Dark Matter, Dark Energy, Dark Skies
Astronomers can prove the first two exist, but worry about the third. At CELT’s Annual Meeting, Public Radio news anchor (and space buff) Irwin Gratz will talk about efforts to preserve our views of the heavens. He’ll also talk about what’s up there, both naturally occurring, and increasingly, created by humans. In addition to being an accomplished journalist, Irwin indulges his interest in astronomy as an occasional show presenter at the Southworth Planetarium in Portland. (See Irwin’s bio.)

The New England Patriots have graciously planned to take the weekend off to avoid conflict with our Annual Meeting, so please join us at the Purpoodock Club.

CELT Board President Elizabeth Goodspeed and Executive Director Cindy Krum will fill us in on the accomplishments of another busy year of conservation, and we will have a brief business meeting to vote on board members and officers for 2019. (All current CELT members will have a vote at this meeting.)

Bring your questions about the universe to the Purpoodock Club on November 18th, from 3 – 5:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend and the event is open to everyone. Please RSVP to info@capelandtrust.org or call 207.767.6054.

Many thanks to our event sponsors whose generous support make this event possible:
