“Wet Paint,” works painted en plein air by talented artists on display at Paint for Preservation 2016.

Join 30 award-winning artists celebrating Cape Elizabeth’s natural beauty and ecological significance at Cape Elizabeth Land Trust’s Paint for Preservation 2017, its tenth annual Wet Paint Auction and reception, to be held on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 4:00 –7:30 p.m.

As one of the most anticipated Wet Paint Auctions in Maine each summer, Paint for Preservation presents a diverse collection of works by highly accomplished artists. During the weekend of the event, the selected artists will paint en plein air at designated public and private locations chosen to highlight Cape Elizabeth’s natural beauty. The newly painted pieces will be sold in competitive bidding on Sunday evening. Smaller works by the artists will also be sold as Mystery Boxes.

Our venue this year will be the home of Tilly Hagen on Breakwater Farm Road in Cape Elizabeth, a stunning site overlooking Richmond Island. The reception will feature locally-sourced delicacies catered by Cape Elizabeth’s own chef Brett Cary, live music by Cul de Sax, and the efforts of many volunteers from throughout the Cape community. We are grateful to our hostess and to all our event sponsors, listed below!
