Paint for Preservation came back with a sell-out crowd of more than 400 guests at the gorgeous “Hidden Court” property in Cape Elizabeth for CELT’s 15th annual wet paint auction. The lively crowd was treated not only to a fine summer evening, a stunning view of Zeb Cove, fine food and drink, but with amazing paintings for sale by auction. The 32 juried artists that painted throughout the weekend brought Cape’s natural beauty to life in creative and original ways that seemed to be a big hit with the guests.

Many in the crowd were first-time “P4P” attendees who had been introduced during the two years it was held online. “It just seemed like everyone was so excited to be together in person, it was hard to get people quieted down for the auction,” one guest noted.

The sale of popular Mystery Boxes was over in 40 minutes (so hurry to the table next year to get yours!).

We’re grateful to our hosts, Jason Schoch and Elisa Tarlow who graciously shared their seaside lawn at Hidden Court in Cape Elizabeth for the gala.

This is CELT’s only fundraiser of the year. In addition to ticket sales, artists donate a portion of art sales, and generous support comes from our Host Committee and several businesses. The event has again netted more than $90,000 to support CELT’s land conservation, stewardship and education programs!
